There are many methods out there used to teach the violin, one of which is the Suzuki method (follow link for more information on the Suzuki method). I use a mix between the traditional method of teaching which focuses more on music reading and theory, and the Suzuki method which stresses ear training and repetition. Having been trained with the Suzuki method myself, I have first hand experience with the effectiveness of this method. The Suzuki method has played a key part on my journey of becoming a proficient violinist. As I have worked with students who have been trained using other methods, I have see the benefits of using it to learn over other training methods.
